Introduction

The Flow Science Lab (FSL) is a group in the School of Engineering and Information Technology, University of New South Wales Canberra which is the Canberra campus of The University of New South Wales Australia and is located at the Australian Defence Force Academy. In general, FSL works on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) which is an interdisciplinary area involving mathematic description of problems, numerical methods for equations, applications of the methods to solve problems, and applications of the new findings to improve our life environment. The recent aim is to develop CFD tools for fluid-structure interactions and complex flows and promote their applications in laryngeal aerodynamics and vocal-fold vibration, fluid-structure interaction of a plate or multiple plates in a viscous fluid, fish swimming and insect flight, blood flow and blood cells, and non-Newtonian flow.
